Nat had been to New Orleans twice on service trips, helping rebuild neighborhoods devistated by Katrina and Andie and I had been to New Orleans many years ago, but Charlotte had never been, so we decided to go on a short four-day family trip in October 2012. Andie's sister Lee joined us for the first two days as well.
Among the highlights:
- Walking around the French Quarter
- Shopping on Magazine Street
- A visit to Mardi Gras World
- Unexpectedly running into a Blues Festival
- Visiting an old cemetery
- Visiting the WWII museum
- The Three Muses restaurant (awesome food - highly recommended)
- Listening to terrific local singer Gal Holiday
